Corncob as a Substrate for the Cultivation of Lentinula edodes

Corncob contains nutrients for the growth of mushrooms. Since wood, original substrate mushroom production, is becoming difficult to obtain these days, study aims evaluate effect using corncob as a Lentinula edodes (shiitake) cultivation, and provide an economic eco-friendly approach transform waste biomass into high quality edible Six formulas containing gradient proportions were assessed (100 cultivation bed-log per group) together with oak sawdust control. Addition had influence on nutritional composition polysaccharide content (4.51 g/100 g) found when 40% major agricultural world. These results revealed excellent potential used main ingredient L. cultivation.
